The Amy Louie Grossmans Music Scholarship (ALGMS) – Call for Submissions

The 2017 ALGMS for career advancement in the amount of $2000 will be awarded to a group or individual from the Greater Toronto Area.


All submissions will be considered. A full explanation of the project and the need for funding will need to be included.


Priority will be given to submissions by performers and musicians that have a current relationship with Grossmans Tavern.


The proposal criteria should include the following:


- applicants name, band name, email address, phone number and mailing address

- links to the applicants website, Facebook and other social media

- links for listening to the applicants music


Submissions may be submitted by email to c/o The Amy Louie Grossmans Music Scholarship The proposal should be 200 words or less, attached and documented in Word or PDF format.


The submission period is July 17, 2017 to September 15, 2017


The successful applicant will receive half the scholarship funds at the beginning of the project and the remainder on its completion. An expense budget will need to be presented prior to receipts of the funds.


The successful applicant will be required to participate in the 6th annual fundraiser to support ALGMS, at Grossmans, Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The scholarship presentation will be made at the fund raising event. They will also be required to help organize the 7th annual fundraiser as well as host the event in 2018.


The successful applicant will be chosen by a panel consisting of members of the Louie family, music industry professionals and individuals with long standing connections to Grossmans Tavern.
