Admission by donation 416-977-7000 http://www.grossmanstavern.com In support of The Amy Louie, Grossman`s Music Scholarship Bringing It Back To Grossman`s is the tag line for a fund raiser taking place on Tuesday, May 29th to establish The Amy Louie, Grossman`s Music Scholarship. The event will feature performances by Donnie"Mr. Downchild"Walsh, Danny Marks, Jerome Godboo, Caution Jam, Laura Hubert, The McDonald Rush Band, Alec Fraser, Gary Kendall, Bill Hedefine, Steve Grisbrook, The Swingin Blackjacks, Brian Cober, Nicola Vaughn, Shakey Dagenais, Terry Wilkins and much more.
Prior to her passing in 2011, Amy Louie had a dream of one day establishing a fund to assist musician`s in their creative work. Her family, longtime proprietors of Grossman`s Tavern on Spadina Ave in Toronto plan to fulfill that wish by bringing together some of the musicians who started their musical journey at one of the cities longest supporters of live music. Amy, a mother, with a full time career in real estate always found time for the family business and enjoyed the music, the musicians and the colorful cast of characters that can always be found at the loveable joint at Spadina and Cecil. She became a special person to everyone who got to know her.
The Amy Louie, Grossman`s Music Scholarship will strive to provide funding on a yearly basis for a musician or music project and will reach out to other non-profit arts organizations to help determine who the recipients will be.
